Nashville, Tennesee

OK we are seriously late with the updates, so we'll do a few at once to catch up. Here's the first one:

We spent a couple of days in Nashville, Tennessee....Mixed feelings about the place, the country music that's everywhere, and the "horizontally challenged" people. More than half the people were seriously obese. Scary stuff. We had some good time though.

The "Batman" building

The only modern club we saw was e m p t y

At the Cadillac club. They had a bull-riding machine, but I was too mesmerized to remember taking a picture. I guess I'll never be a journalist.

At the, well, ..Beer Sellar, 50 beers on tap, awsome!

Awww....

Just being a moronic tourist (Elvis din't like the kiss)

But he liked Caroline

Right in front of the Convention Centre

doin' the Appalachian ridge

Not much to say, lots of twisties, fantastic views, perfect weather. What can go wrong? Well, at exactly 7:18pm, every night, the deer comes out, with his entire extended family. I'm not kidding, there were coming out like New York rats. Scary.
Took us a while to finish the Skyline (35mph speed limit) and the Blue Ridge Parkway (very long).
Finished the whole thing with a bang: Deal's Gap between North Carolina and Tennessee, to tame the Dragon. This a VERY twisty road with 318 turns in 11 miles, scraped the pegs on almost every corner. Check it out http://www.dealsgap.com/

Here are the pics:

Where's that damn road...

Yeehaaaw!!

Find the deer...

We have to go there?
Find Caro. This was an awesome room !

Except for the view in the morning..aahhh, no wonder it was quiet :-)

FINALLY!!!

Ok, so after 3 weeks of various delays (work, party, sleep, work, etc..), we finally managed to start our trip, on Sept. 19.
Here's the mess before the packing, nobody thought it would fit.

...But it did, and here's the result:

Ready...Set... Gooo!!!

First leg of the trip was a 700km jump to Philadelphia on the lovely interstate, then the next day we arrived to Washington, DC. The compulsory pictures...

We spent the evening with a bunch of European ex-pats, great fun, good wine, many languages. Thanks, Aurelie!

Roberta is going to hate me for this picture...
